Result Widget
The Results List works in coordination with the Category List, Tag List or Archive List widgets to display a list of pages that match a specific criteria. In essence, these widgets provide a predefined search that the Results list renders. You can have a single results page that is used by all three of these widgets.
For example, if you have a list of topics that you focus on in your website, you can define your categories, associate them with your pages, and then show the list of topics on on your website. When the website visitor clicks on one of the categories, they are brought to the results page where they can see the list of pages and a short summary of each page.
It is a best practice to include your tag or categories list on the page with your results. The reason for this is that if people do not get the results they expected, they will want to quickly adjust their search by clicking on a different tag or category without having to go back to the previous page.
The Tag List widget creates and displays a list of tags that have been assigned to pages as a way or organizing and categorizing those pages. The Tag List is an excellent way to create a secondary navigation beyond the navigation widget. For example, you can tag all of your pages throughout your site that have to do with a certain topic. The tag list shows that topic, the number of pages associated with that topic, and provides a link to view those pages. It's like a predefined search to make content easier to find for your web viewers.
Tags are similar to categories, the main difference being that categories are structured and pre-defined by an admin user whereas tags are created dynamically by content creators. See Creating Page Meta-data for instructions on creating tags.
To create a tag list you must create a page that contains a Results widget. Otherwise, the list will display topics but provide no link to see the associated pages.
Since the Results page is dynamically generated, there is no content to configure on this widget
